Glaucine (O,O-Dimethylisoboldine) is an alkaloid isolated fromGlaucium flavumwith antitussive, bronchodilation and anti-inflammatory properties. Glaucine is a selective and orally activephosphodiesterase4 (PDE4)inhibitor withK_is of 3.4 μM in human bronchus and polymorphonuclear leukocytes. Glaucine is also a non-selectiveα-adrenoceptorantagonist, aCa²⁺entry blocker, and a weakdopamine D1andD2 receptorantagonist. Glaucine has antioxidative and antiviral activities^[1][2][3].
