ASP2397 (VL-2397) is a natural occuring and novel cyclic hexapeptide produced by the fungal strain MF-347833 that was isolated from Malaysian leaf litter. It exhibits rapid and potent fungicidal activity against Aspergillus species, at a MIC range of 1 to 4 μg/mL in human serum. ASP2397 (VL-2397) has the potential to treat invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA).
