Background:
Etiocholanedione is a neurosteroid.1It inhibits glycine-induced chloride currents (IGly) in isolated rat hippocampal pyramidal neurons when used at a concentration of 50 µM. Etiocholanedione (0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 mM) also inhibits glucose exchange transport in isolated human erythrocytes.2
