Background:

Ipronidazole-d₃is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of ipronidazole by GC- or LC-MS. Ipronidazole is a nitroimidazole antiprotozoal agent.¹Dietary administration of ipronidazole (0.00312-0.0094% w/w) reducesH. meleagridis-induced mortality in young turkeys. It also induces 100% disease clearance in bulls infected withT. foetuswhen administered at a dose of 60 g/animal.²Formulations containing ipronidazole have been used in the treatment of veterinary histomoniasis in turkeys and swine dysentery.
