Racemic rasagiline, formerly known as AGN-1135, is a monoamine oxidase type-B inhibitor (MAOI) that is not metabolized to amphetamine analogues. However, application of this drug can lead to fatal hypertensive crisis in patients who consume tyramine-rich foods. TVP-1022 is the (S)-isomer os Rasagiline and acts as a cardioprotective agent.
