Background:
Alclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-pyretic properties.1,2,3It inhibits contractions induced by serotonin (5-HT) in isolated guinea pig ileum by 28% when used at a concentration of 200 μg/ml.4Alclofenac (480 mg/kg per day) decreases implant neutrophil and macrophage infiltration in a rat model of irritant-induced inflammation induced by implantation of heat-killedM. tuberculosis-impregnated polyurethane cubes.5
