Background:

Desloratadine-d₄is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of desloratadine by GC- or LC-MS. Desloratadine is an orally bioavailable metabolite of the non-sedating antihistamine loratadine .^1,2It is a tricyclic antagonist of the histamine H₁receptor (K_i= 0.97 nM). Formulations containing desloratadine have been used in the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
