Karenitecin, formerly known as Cositecan, is a synthetic silicon-containing agent related to camptothecin with antineoplastic properties. Karenitecin stabilizes the cleavable complex between topoisomerase I and DNA, resulting in DNA breaks and consequently triggering apoptosis.
