Sincalide (CCK-8) is a cholecystokinetic drug used to treat cholecystitis and to diagnose disorders of the gallbladder and pancreas. It is the 8-amino acid C-terminal fragment of cholecystokinin. Sincalide is an octapeptide hormone present in the intestine and brain. When secreted from the gastric mucosa, it stimulates the release of bile from the gallbladder and digestive enzymes from the pancreas.
