Hispidulin, formerly known as Dinatin, is a naturally occurring flavone with potential antiepileptic activity in rats and gerbils. It is found in plants including Grindelia argentina, Arrabidaea chica, Saussurea involucrate, Crossostephium chinense, Artemisia, and Salvia. Hispidulin is an activator of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and inhibits the release of glutamate and methamphetamine-induced hyperlocomotion (MIH). References: Patel K, Patel DK.
