Tiazofurin (NSC 286193) is a synthetic nucleoside analogue with antineoplastic activity. Tiazofurin is anabolized intracellularly to tiazole-4-carboxamide adenine dinucleotide (TAD), a potent inhibitor ofIMP dehydrogenase (IMPDH)[1]. Tiazofurin also has anti-orthopoxvirusand anti-variola activities[2].
