L-Thyroxine is an iodine containing hormone produced from thyroglobulin in the thyroid follicular cells. L-Thyroxine reduces total cholesterol level, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol as well as waist to hip ratio in subclinical hypothyroidism pateints.

试验操作

Animal models	Weanling mice of the Swiss-Webster strain
Dosage form	0.9 or 2.7 μg Administered subcutaneously 2 hours before the administration of purified porcine thyrotropin-releasing factor (TRF)
Applications	L-Thyroxine inhibited synthesis and release of thyrotropin (TSH) induced by TRF from the anterior pituitary in mice. Complete inhibition of the TRF-TSH release response was achieved with 2.7 μg L-thyroxine and partial inhibition occurred with 0.9 μg L-thyroxine. The inhibition caused by L-thyroxine could be overcame by increasing the dose of TRF.
