L-homocystine is the oxidized version of L-homocysteine. L-homocystine increases vascular oxidant stress and impairs vasodilation, along with being a pro-inflammatory and Hageman clotting agent used to study cardiovascular disease. In rabbit liver, fructose diphosphatase is inhibited with L-homocystine.
